About OnePeterFive

OnePeterFive (1P5) is a traditionalist Catholic online magazine. Steve Skojec launched it on 1 August 2014, according to his second-anniversary post (OnePeterFive), and describes it as an online journal and education-based 501(c)(3) about Catholic culture that he founded (steveskojec.com).

In late July 2021 the site was acquired by Crisis Publications, the publisher of Crisis Magazine led by Eric Sammons, and Skojec stepped away from it. Sammons later wrote that readership had been falling and that Skojec had been publicly expressing doubts about Catholicism (OnePeterFive). Timothy Flanders became editor on 9 August 2021; the announcement described the site as a division of Crisis Publications and said its editorial stance draws on the phrase "unite the clans" coined by Michael J. Matt of The Remnant (OnePeterFive). The site has also promoted Pelican+, which it describes as a new Catholic social media platform (OnePeterFive).

Its 2026 coverage followed the main stories for traditionalists. It headlined Cardinal Arthur Roche's statement that Leo XIV would not change Traditionis custodes (OnePeterFive), republished Bishop Joseph Strickland's September letter saying he had not moved from his positions (OnePeterFive), and after the Vatican's 2 July decree on the SSPX argued that the faithful who attend SSPX Masses are not necessarily excommunicated (OnePeterFive; see the TradWatch™ brief).

In September 2026 Flanders published an essay headlined "SSPX Clerics are Schismatic? Then they are Separated Brethren", saying he would apply principles of Christian charity and truth to the site's editorial process in what he described as a new period for traditionalism (OnePeterFive). Integrity Magazine, which is critical of what it calls "Trad Inc.", presented a public dispute between Flanders and the author Kennedy Hall over the Society as marking the end of the traditional movement as it once was (Integrity Magazine). See papal-critique and resistance media.
