Accountability

Right of Reply

If you are a person or outlet we have written about, you have the right to respond.

How it works

  1. Use the form below. Tell us which analysis you are responding to, who you are and how we can reach you.
  2. Write your response — up to 5,000 characters. It can dispute our analysis, add context or correct a fact.
  3. An editor reviews it, normally within [two working days], and may contact you to confirm it came from you.

What we publish

We publish substantive responses alongside the analysis, under “Responses”, with your name and role, the date we received it, and your words — verbatim or lightly edited for length only. If we edit for length, we say so. You will be asked to confirm that we may publish your response on these terms.

We may decline to publish material that contains personal information about anyone, threats, abuse or content that would be unlawful to publish. If we decline, we tell you why.

Errors of fact

If your response shows that we got a fact wrong, we will also correct the analysis under our Corrections Policy.
