Reason & Theology (R&T Media)

Reason & Theology (R&T Media) is a Catholic apologetics show and website founded by Michael Lofton on 17 January 2019 (Reason & Theology). It is published chiefly as a YouTube channel, with a website and an X account (YouTube; X). According to the site, in 2026 the content was split into two shows on two dedicated channels (R&T Media). Publicly visible subscriber figures in search snapshots were inconsistent, so no audience figure is given here.

Content. Beyond intra-Catholic disputes, the channel has hosted debates with non-Catholics on subjects such as the Old Testament canon, papal primacy and the filioque (Patheos), and Lofton has appeared on Catholic Answers programmes with Trent Horn (Catholic Answers). A large part of its output answers traditionalist commentators, above all Taylor Marshall, to whom the site devotes a category (Reason & Theology); examples include a video on what Lofton called Marshall's use of sedevacantist arguments (YouTube) and a post on Cardinal Joseph Zen's response to Marshall and Carlo Maria Viganò (Reason & Theology). It also argues against sedevacantism (Reason & Theology; Catholic Answers).
