Catholic Family News (CFN) was a traditionalist Catholic monthly journal with a website and an annual conference. According to its own tribute to John Vennari, it began in 1993 as an occasional publication and became a monthly when Vennari took over as editor in 1994; he led it for more than twenty years until his death on 4 April 2017 (Catholic Family News). Wikipedia gives 1994 as the founding year and describes Vennari as editor and publisher (Wikipedia).

Matt Gaspers, whom Vennari asked shortly before his death to carry on the paper's work, became managing editor (Catholic Identity Conference). Brian M. McCall became editor-in-chief on 1 June 2018, with final responsibility for the monthly journal, online content and the annual CFN conference (Catholic Family News). Gaspers announced his resignation as managing editor on 1 August 2024 (X).

CFN worked closely with The Remnant. Vennari co-wrote the 2000 book We Resist You to the Face with Michael J. Matt and with Atila Sinke Guimarães and Marian Horvat of Tradition in Action (Tradition in Action), and during Francis's pontificate the editors of the two papers issued a public accusation of the pope, as reported by OnePeterFive (OnePeterFive). The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), an advocacy organisation, has listed CFN among the groups it designates as radical traditionalist Catholic hate groups (SPLC). Mike Lewis, a commentator who defended Francis, described The Remnant and CFN as formerly obscure outlets that found new life among Catholics opposed to that pontificate (Millennial Journal).

In late 2025 the board announced that it had decided to close the paper and that the December issue would be the last. The farewell notice thanked Gaspers, McCall and other staff and said that The Fatima Center USA would preserve CFN's legacy by featuring articles and videos by Vennari and other former contributors (Catholic Family News).
