About E. Michael Jones
E. Michael Jones is an American author and the editor of Culture Wars, a magazine published from South Bend, Indiana, through Fidelity Press (SPLC). By the magazine's own account, he was an assistant professor of American literature at Saint Mary's College until he was dismissed in 1980. He started Fidelity magazine in November 1981, and it was later succeeded by Culture Wars (Culture Wars; Wikipedia). His books include Libido Dominandi and The Jewish Revolutionary Spirit (2008) (Goodreads; Internet Archive).
Characterisations of his work. The Anti-Defamation League describes Jones as an antisemitic traditionalist Catholic writer and podcaster who portrays Jews as attacking the Church and the wider moral order (ADL). The Southern Poverty Law Center says he presents Jews as the driving force behind social decay (SPLC; SPLC Hatewatch). According to the SPLC, Jones rejects the label "antisemitic" and calls himself "anti-Jewish". He has also said that racism violates his Catholic faith (Wikipedia).
Church response. On 19 February 2020 Bishop Kevin Rhoades of Fort Wayne–South Bend, the diocese that includes South Bend, issued a statement that the Church gives no cover to anti-Jewish bias. Press coverage described it as an indirect rebuke of Jones (Israel Hayom; Algemeiner).
Platforms. In June 2020 Jones posted that YouTube had suspended him for a week over his criticism of the ADL. Culture Wars later said he had removed older videos himself and moved them to BitChute (X; Culture Wars). In 2025 the ADL cited a post of his on X, where it said he had more than 100,000 followers (ADL). See Judaism and antisemitism.
