About Peter Dimond
Peter Dimond, born Robert Dimond and known as "Brother Peter", is, with his brother Michael Dimond, one of the two leaders of Most Holy Family Monastery (MHFM), a sedevacantist organisation in Fillmore, New York (Wikipedia). The community is not approved by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, whose spokesperson has said it has no affiliation with the Catholic Church (Wikipedia).
He is a public voice of the group's website, vaticancatholic.com, whose home page has featured a debate on sedevacantism in which he took part (vaticancatholic.com). The site argues that the post–Vatican II popes are antipopes, for example in articles referring to "Antipope Francis" (vaticancatholic.com). In a recorded statement quoted by The Buffalo News in 2010, Robert Dimond said the group was best known for "Exposing the Vatican II church and opposing its heretical teachings"; the brothers declined to be interviewed for that story, which concerned a lawsuit by a man who had left the community and accused the monastery of taking $1.6 million from him (The Buffalo News via BishopAccountability). In June 2012 a federal district court in New York dismissed the suit's fraud, misrepresentation, racketeering (RICO), deceptive-practices, false-advertising and equitable claims (Religion Clause via ICLRS). See Sedevacantism.
The Southern Poverty Law Center lists MHFM among "radical traditional Catholic" hate groups in New York (SPLC), a designation Wikipedia dates to February 2017 (Wikipedia); the SPLC has characterised that wider category as an antisemitic movement (SPLC). See Judaism and antisemitism.
