Sensus Traditionis

Sensus Traditionis is the official media outlet of Fr. Chad Ripperger, founder of the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother (the Doloran Fathers) in the Archdiocese of Denver. According to Ripperger's Wikipedia biography, it comprises a website and a YouTube channel on which many of his homilies and talks are posted, and his books are also published under the Sensus Traditionis name (Wikipedia).

Ripperger's work as an exorcist is a central theme of his output. Retailers also sell books such as his Deliverance Prayers, whose promotional copy summarises his lecture series on "generational spirits" — demons said to attach to family lines after grave sins such as joining Freemasonry — and notes an imprimatur from the Archdiocese of Denver (Tumblar House).

The teaching disseminated through these channels has attracted both defenders and critics. Where Peter Is published "The bizarre and dangerous views of a celebrity exorcist" (Where Peter Is), and Mike Lewis set out disputed points, including generational demons and curses, in a Substack reply to a defender of Ripperger (Mike Lewis, Substack). At the same time, a 2019 Ripperger lecture critical of failings within the traditional Catholic movement, published in transcript by a retailer of his books, has been cited by defenders of Traditionis Custodes (Tumblar House; Patheos).
