About InfoVaticana

InfoVaticana is a Spanish Catholic news portal founded in 2013 by Gabriel Ariza and Fernando Beltrán; Wikipedia describes its editorial line as orthodox Catholic with a focus on Vatican affairs (Wikipedia). Ariza, its director, told the legal news site Confilegal in 2018: "Hemos sido implacables con la corrupción económica, moral y sexual dentro de la Iglesia" ("We have been relentless about economic, moral and sexual corruption within the Church") (Confilegal). The portal has described itself as the clear leader in Spanish-language religious news (InfoVaticana Blogs); that claim was not independently verified.

Dispute with the Holy See over its name. In 2018 Spanish media reported that the Secretariat of State claimed exclusive rights to the name "Vatican" and, through a law firm, demanded that the infovaticana.com domain be handed over (El Español; Confilegal). The portal continues to publish under the name.

Relevance to traditionalist media. InfoVaticana hosts a network of blogs, from which the traditionalist portal Adelante la Fe emerged (InfoVaticana Blogs). It relays commentary by Roberto de Mattei, including his 2025 criticism of a Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith note on Marian titles (InfoVaticana). Its English edition gives prominent, sympathetic coverage to the traditional Mass: in May 2026 it headlined the Paris–Chartres pilgrimage as showing "the unstoppable missionary force of the Traditional Mass", and in July 2026 it reported that the Institute of Christ the King had passed one hundred seminarians (InfoVaticana; InfoVaticana).
